Is-sinjal għal ABBATI magħmul minn tlett partijiet. (i) Fl-ewwel parti jsir is-sinjal għal TIFEL li huwa l-għaqda tas-sinjali RAĠEL ŻGĦIR. L-ewwel id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ Ċ bil-pala tħares ’l isfel u titqiegħed quddiem il-ġbin. Il-forma taċ-Ċ tingħalaq waqt li l-id tersaq ’il quddiem. Imbagħad, l-id tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 magħluqa u bil-pala tħares ’l isfel tinżel sal-qadd. (ii) It-tieni parti hija s-sinjal għal GĦIN. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 u titqiegħed quddiem bil-pala tħares ’l fuq. L-id l-oħra tieħu l-forma ta’ ponn bis-saba’ l-kbir maħruġ ’il fuq u titqiegħed fuq il-pala tal-ewwel id bis-saba’ l-kbir iħares ’l fuq. L-id ta’ taħt tressaq din l-id ’l quddiem u tgħolliha ftit ’l fuq fl-istess ħin. (iii) Fl-aħħar isir is-sinal għal QASSIS. Id waħda tieħu l-forma ta’ C żgħira u timxi mal-għonq qisu qed turi l-forma tal-kullar tal-qassis.

The sign for ALTAR BOY consists of three parts. (i) The first part is the sign for BOY which is made up of the signs for MAN and SMALL. One hand takes the shape of C with palm facing downwards. The hand is placed in front of the forehead. The C shape closes as the hand moves forwards. For the second part, the hand changes into the closed 5 shape and is placed with palm facing downwards at waist level. (ii) The second part is the sign for HELP. One hand takes the shape of 5 and is placed at the front with palm facing upwards. The other hand takes the shape of a fist with the thumb stretched up. It is placed over the palm of the first hand with thumb pointing upwards. The lower hand pushes the other hand forwards and upwards. (iii) The third part is the sign for PRIEST. This is made with one hand in the shape of small C. The hand moves from one side to the other of the neck as if indicating the shape of the priest’s collar.
